Hello,
Great website, by the way!
I was thinking of creating hot air balloon centerpieces for the reception for my son's Christening. I'm not sure how to go about creating the netting that looks like diamond-shaped ribbons across the floating balloon.
Any guidance you can provide is so greatly appreciated!!!
I bought the baskets and teddy bears to put in the baskets. But am stumped on how to do the net. Thank you for any help.

Thanks for your comment about my website, Emma. I'm glad you like it!
As for your question: we didn't make the balloon nets ourselves. We bought them from a specialist balloon supplier in Germany.
It seems you can get these balloon nets now at Amazon as well.
Some reviewers said they didn't like it that the net was made of regular string (I think they meant curly ribbon) instead of a thicker, rope-like material. But overall it seemed to work well for its intended purpose.
I also found a video showing how to make the hot air balloon netting yourself, using curly ribbon. But to be honest, I think the ready-made nets look better, and you save yourself a lot of time.
All the best for the christening of your son!
Margit
